Elderly Castor Gardens man to be tried for wife’s murder

Louis Hartdegen, 75, will go to trial for the May 7 murder of his wife Judith, 74.

Judith Hartdegen died in the couple’s home on the 6700-block of Castor Avenue in what was first thought to be a home invasion. Her husband, who suffered injuries, blamed a neighbor for the deadly attack.
