Citizens Planning Institute is accepting applications for the Fall 2014 course series NOW until September 25.

Now in its fourth year, the Philadelphia CPI is the education and outreach arm of the City Planning Commission. Its mission is to empower citizens to take a more active role in shaping the future of their communities and the city through planning. Participants learn from invited speakers and from fellow neighborhood leaders and activists across the city.

To date, the CPI has

•        Received over 600 applicants;

•        Trained 245 participants (“citizen planners”) representing over 400 organizations and over 100 neighborhoods; and

•        Used the talents of 72 volunteer instructors and panelists from the public, private and nonprofit sectors.

•        Delivered other public trainings, conference presentations, and workshops to over 800 people.
