Philadelphia is still experiencing net population growth, according to moving industry data. “United Van Lines found that Philadelphia saw 26 percent more inbound moves than outbound moves during this peak moving season (May 1 and August 31.) That ranks the city 12th on the list of cities with the highest volume of inbound moves.”

The potentially transformative development of Ajax Metalworks, a key property on the Delware Waterfront in Fishtown, could be scotched if Commonwealth Court sides with Allen Street Neighbors, who want to enforce entertainment venue parking minimums for the redevelopment project.

State lawmakers are coming back to work, and the local cigarette tax for Philadelphia schools is at the top of the agenda. House Republican spokesman Steve Miskin appears confident the bill will pass.
