More Saturday and evening service coming to West Philly trolleys

SEPTA’s fall transit schedule will go into effect next week, which is good news for trolley fans.

Starting Monday, Sept. 7th, SEPTA’s Route 15, 101 and 102 trolleys will resume service, having been suspended over the summer for construction projects. Those lines were serviced by buses during the construction.

Some of the West Philly trolley lines – Routes 11, 13, 34 and 36* – will see expanded afternoon and evening service on Saturdays.

Not all the schedule updates are good news for riders, though. Midday service on the Norristown High Speed Line will be reduced to every 30 minutes to accomodate track construction. The NHSL usually runs every 15 to 20 minutes during the midday lull.

Also, construction continues at 69th Street Transportation Center, meaning Bus Routes 104, 109, 110, 111, 112, 120 and 126 will still board at the temporary terminal on Market Street and N. Chatham Road. Bus Route 107, however, will move to its new permanent boarding spot in the south terminal starting Tuesday, Sept. 7th.
