In Bjarke Ingels’ new building at the Navy Yard Inga Saffron sees a distilled version of his design philosophy, and it’s proof that size doesn’t necessarily matter for the Danish starchitect. Though the budget was restrained the result is a high design building. Oh, and there’s a giant periscope with a view to docked ships.

The city is releasing more details about Democratic National Convention logistics, including street closures and demonstration zones in FDR Park.

Your Pennsylvania legislature is pushing ahead bills to permit development in state park land, which would make way for new outdoor sports facilities, hotels, golf courses, hotels, and amusement parks. Pennsylvania Environmental Council’s Davitt Woodwell decried the proposals: “Our parks shouldn’t be used as piggy banks by the administration or the legislature.”
