After being closed for 22 years there is now a new 41st Street Bridge, reuniting Belmont and Parkside. Inga Saffron looks at what lies ahead for the area, isolated by infrastructure issues for so long.

Car traffic during the SEPTA strike led to a 400 percent increase in air pollution, The Pulse’s Irina Zhorov reports.

Land eyed for a new prison on the Delaware River last year is now under an agreement to be an expanded metal scrapping and recycling facility. The Inquirer reports District Councilman Bobby Henon is supporting the proposed new use and introduced legislation to change the zoning for the 58-acre site.

Don’t call the new Comcast tower Innovation. Jacob Adelman reports that Comcast wants its new tower to be known as the “Comcast Technology Center,” instead of the “Comcast Innovation and Technology Center” for the sake of brevity.

Journalist and author Peter H. Binzen, author of “Whitetown, USA” on Fishtown, “The Cop Who Would be King” on Frank Rizzo, and recent biography of Mayor Richardson Dilworth, has died from complications of a stroke at 94. The Inquirer offers this remembrance.
