Park? Let's! Photos from Park(ing) Day 2017

Today is Park(ing) Day, an annual, nationwide event where on-street parking spots are turned into pop-up parklets. Started in San Francisco in 2005, Park(ing) Day is celebrating it's 10th year in Philadelphia. Park(ing) Day encourages the public to reconsider how society uses public space and offers architects, designers, and community organizations a chance to show off their creative talents and pilot ideas for permanent streetscape improvements.

Below is a crowd-sourced collection of just some the hundreds of installations in and around Philadelphia today. Want to show off a great parklet? E-mail photos to PlanPhilly Interim Managing Editor Jim Saksa at JSaksa@whyy.org. Please include the photographer's name, the parklet's location, and the group or person who built it.

PlanPhilly will update this page throughout the day, so check back. You can also follow the fun on Twitter
