PlanPhilly: Planning Philadelphia's Future

First reported on Philebrity: On Tuesday, February 16 at 3:30 p.m, developer Bart Blatstein will be breaking ground on his long-rumored shopping center at Second Street and Girard Ave. in Northern Liberties, dubbed The Shops at Schmidt’s.  According to the press release, TSAS will contain “the first of Pathmark’s new, re-imagined grocery stores, a two-story facility featuring a host of prepared foods to go and a dramatic increase in local, sustainable product offerings. A hardware store, bank branch and other crucial retail outlets are also part of the plan.” The project is slated for completion later this year, to be followed by “The Residences at Schmidts, 600 new residential units in three separate buildings surrounding a lushly landscaped one-acre park area.” Curious about what it’ll all look like?
