Please join us at one of two open presentations and feedback sessions for the Lower Schuylkill Master Plan. These meetings will feature a presentation of the early ideas and recommendations for the Master Plan study area, which consists of 3700 acres of industrial land on each side of the Schuylkill River from the University Avenue Bridge to the Girard Point Bridge. The plan will look at how to bring more industry and jobs to the area, increase public waterfront access, create better circulation for the movement of goods and people throughout the area, and improve the health of the river. The presentation will be led by Chan Krieger NBBJ, the primary planning consultant on the team.
The meeting will begin with a presentation and will be followed by facilitated break-out groups to maximize the amount of citizen input. We hope you will come to share your ideas for what the Lower Schuylkill might look like in 2035.
The first open house will be held at Richard Allen Preparatory Charter School, 2601 South 58th Street, from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Free parking is avalable, and the school is also accessible via the Route 36 Trolley (map).
We hope you can join us for one of the two meetings: the content will be the same at both.
The plan is being led by the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, Philadelphia City Planning Commission, and the Philadelphia Department of Commerce, and is being supported by the William Penn Foundation.
