The 2011 Fairmount Arts Crawl is just around the corner and is sure to be one the best yet with a slew of new additions to the day. Each year, the Arts Crawl hosts over 70 artists in more than 37 venues around the Fairmount Neighborhood. This year, we'll also be featuring:
- The new Artist Alley along the western wall of Eastern State Penitentiary. This addition will help us to accommodate an increased number of artists during the crawl and will create an eclectic walkway leading to children's activities sponsored by Friends of Eastern State Penitentiary Park and Bache-Martin Home & School Association.
- The first ever Fairmount Arts Crawl Commemorative Poster. The poster will feature the artwork of winning artist, Joseph A. Jurciukonis. Voted on by residents at the Fairmount Fling in November, his work features iconic signage from around the neighborhood and is a wonderful addition to any art lover's home.
- For Fairmount Arts Crawl venue newcomer, Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), lcated at 704 N. 23rd street, even their building is a work of art featuring mosaics by Isaiah Zagar.
- A celebration of Ukrainian Art presented by the Ukrainian League of Philadelphia (located at 23rd & Brown Streets). This year, they'll be hosting 5 artists showcasing their unique photography inspired by an eclectic mix of experiences.
