Did you know there are over 400 pro cyclists from around the world racing in this Sunday’s Philadelphia International Championship, and over a hundred taking on ‘the wall’ in the Liberty Classic? Well, the neighborhood of East Falls is well aware of this fact, and getting ready to party. From 9am to 3pm, two blocks of Riverfront (Midvale Avenue at Kelly Drive) are closed off so you and your buddies can watch the bike race, enjoy a picnic outdoors, and cheer for the cyclists as they speed by. In between laps, you can listen to live music, nibble on delicious bites from local eateries, and let the kids have fun with face painting and other activities. There’s even an attended bike corral for you cyclists out there. Get there early, and save your spot!
