Counting Your Carbon and Building A Community Carbon Network, Thursday, January 21, 2010, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

This is a partner event with The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of Association of Energy Engineers (GPCAEE).  The USGBC’s launch into the emission reduction reporting world with their latest LEED 2009 program for existing buildings is a “rose waiting to bloom”. The conundrum is that no one really knows how to nurture this opportunity to its full potential. In this presentation, you will be introduced to the web-based registration realm of LEED building, carbon offsets. Also, you will be shown how the Philadelphia community can be the first city to provide carbon credit generators, sellers, and buyers with their own, “local platform” so they can keep the economic benefits of carbon credit trading right here. With a dedicated partnership of community-doers we can illustrate to the Green Building Industry and others in Philadelphia exactly why and how to: a) earn their LEED point for emission reduction reporting , b) count all of their carbon offsets, and c) create a community network to take full economic advantage of all carbon credits.
