Due to significant interest during our May General Membership Meeting & the information we expect to receive at the June General Membership Meeting, we will be hosting a follow-up meeting with interested neighborhood residents regarding future traffic patterns through the neighborhood when Sugarhouse opens. The meeting will take place on Wednedsay, June 23 at 7:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church at 418 E. Girard Ave. During this meeting, we plan to discuss current traffic patterns and solicit feedback from neighbors on things that the streets department could do to minimize the effects of casino traffic on the neighborhood. This can include a range of options, from simple measures such as size and location of signs, placement of surveillance and traffic cameras, and changing the direction of or blocking streets, to other options such as raised walkways or electric gates. We anticipate that the most affected areas will likely be Riverside (from Girard to the River from Frankford to Aramingo) and the streets near Aramingo from Delaware Ave. to York St. where the new 95 offramps will drop off and pick up traffic. We will provide a blow-up of the affected streets for comment and discussion and will take notes and make sure your feedback gets to the city. All residents of Fishtown are welcome and encouraged to attend.
