International Forest Film FestivalPrint Page

July 5, 2011 - 8:30pm

PHS and Northern Liberties Neighbors Association will present a selection of films featuring trees as part of the International Forest Film Festival and the Plant One Million campaign. The United Nations General Assembly declared 2011 as the International Year of Forests to raise awareness on sustainable management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests. The International Forest Film Festival has been organized by the United Nations Forum on Forests Secretariat and the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival. We will be screening two to three forest documentaries outside under the stars at Liberty Lands Park. Bring a blanket, snacks, and friends and come out and enjoy! Plant One Million is an ambitious multi-state tree-planting campaign, encompassing 13 counties in southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey and Delaware. Visit PlantOneMillionDOTorg for more information.
