Sustainable development usually calls to mind new construction, but developers are increasingly finding innovative ways to integrate green building techniques into historic rehabilitation projects. On February 17, from 12:30-2pm, join us to learn first-hand about Philadelphia’s first three projects to attain LEED certification and obtain historic tax credits: the 30th Street Post Office redevelopment, by Brandywine Realty Trust;the former Strawbridge’s department store at 801 Market, by PREIT; and the new Hotel Palomar in the Architect’s Building, by Kimpton Hotels. Panelists will include Chris Mrozinski, Development Director, PREIT; Jack Paruta, Senior Associate, Gensler; and Anthony Rimikis, Senior Vice President-Urban Development, Brandywine Realty Trust; each of whom played a key role in envisioning and implementing these complicated projects. Learn about the unique challenges they faced in combining sustainable development and historic preservation, the key decisions they made along the way, and why they sought environmental and historic certifications. Location is 801 Market Street, Betsy Ross Room (enter on 8th Street). Thank you to our event lunch sponsors: Brandywine Realty Trust and PREIT. And as always, thank you to our Young Leader Title Sponsor TD Bank and Supporting Sponsor Commonwealth Lawyers Title. This Roundtable is opened to the first 25 members who register; deadline is February 11.
