OPENING RECEPTION FEATURING THE ARTWORK OF:

THOMAS WALTON http://thomaswalton.org/

JON LAIDACKERhttp://jonathanlaidacker.com/

Honoring their collaboration and Salon with the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, for this month's gallery show, Fourth Wall decided to focus on two PAFA grads. Both artists not only graduated with their MFA from PAFA, but have remained in the area as professional artists, educators, and public artists, adding to the pre-existing dynamic culture of the Philadelphia area.

Jon Laidacker has a trompe l'oeil style and approach to both his studio and public art practices. Jon mixes this approach with an element of surrealism to create a unique art experience, forcing the viewer to question the reality and false realities of his visual depictions.

Thomas Walton's oil paintings portray an intimate look into the artist's life, capturing still life, figure and portraiture, but creating a feeling that transpires the flat imagery. The recognizable style in his paintings only accentuates the experience where in each piece, a distinct mood is expressed, completely enlivening the subject matter so that the subjects seem naturally familiar.
