The Philadelphia Master Gardeners are presenting a four part series of timely and informative gardening workshops. They are:
SEED STARTING, January 9, 2010. Join us to learn how to start seeds indoors and get a head start on the gardening season. Find out what materials you need to successfully start your seeds.
INDOOR AND OUTDOOR CONTAINER GARDENING, February 13, 2010. A large pot can contain one plant or an entire garden. Find out how to design and grow plants in containers so you can add to the beauty of your home and surroundings.
GARDENING FOR BUTTERFLIES AND HUMMINGBIRDS, March 13, 2010. What plants attract butterflies and hummingbirds to visit and pollinate your garden? Support their life cycles with the proper plants and you will get to enjoy the dazzle of their presence in the garden.
RAIN GARDENING, April 10, 2010. Planting a rain garden helps slow down soil erosion and run off, adds to the water table and creates better drainage for your plants. Find out how to create a fabulous garden while supporting your water shed.

The Second Saturday Gardening Series is held in the classroom at the Horticulture Center in West Fairmount Park, Belmont Avenue and Montgomery Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19131.
