URGENT: Are You Receiving Funds to Train in the Green Economy?
Just a year ago, leaders of the Green Economy Task Force travelled to Washington DC to ensure that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act contained opportunities for people with barriers to employment to receive training for green collar jobs. Since then, not only has Philadelphia received federal training dollars for workforce development, community college, and organized labor training programs, but the state and many private foundations have contributed to the growth of green job training in our city as well. As thrilled as we are, we also recognize that with these investments comes enormous responsibility. Join the GETF's Job Training Committee in partnership with the PWIB, JOIN, SBN, and the City of Philadelphia, for Philadelphia's first convening of green job trainers, to discuss opportunities, overlaps, and obstacles to effective green job training in our city.
