The Barnes Foundation is on track to be the first major cultural institution to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) platinum certification. William McDowell, senior building project director, discusses features of the new building behind its high rating. The rating system was devised by the United States Green Building Council to evaluate the environmental performance of buildings.
