Bicycle Coalition to present Fairmount bike lane proposal to civics

The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia will open discussion of a proposed Fairmount Avenue bike lane up to community groups at three civic association meetings beginning Jan. 28, 2013. 

The Bicycle Coalition has been documenting community and business support for bike lanes on Fairmount Avenue - one lane in each direction - from Pennsylvania Ave to Broad Street. The proposed lane is intended to facilitate bicycling for shopping, commuting and travel in the Fairmount, Spring Garden and Francisville neighborhoods, the Bike Coaltion said

The group will present their preliminary survey findings and seek community feedback at the following civic association meetings: 

Francisville Neighborhood Development Corp. Monthly Meeting
Monday, February 25th, Doors open at 5:30 p.m., meeting at 6:15 p.m.                                                                                                                                                      2nd PIlgrim Baptist Church, 15th & Ogden Street 

Spring Garden Civic Association 
February 20, 6:30pm
Lithuanian Church Hall, 19th & Wallace Street

Fairmount Civic Association
January 31, 7 pm
Phila. Mennonite High School, 860 N. 24th Street

Residents that live within the highlighted portion of this map will be able to vote on the propsoed bike lane.
