A Guide's View of Philadelphia Lecture Series: William Penn, the Lenape and the Frontier City

William Penn, the Lenape and the Frontier City, with Daniel Richter, professor of history at University of Pennsylvania, and award-winning author on early America

Now in its third year, the eight-part lecture series features the Philadelphia region's top experts in history, culture, politics and architecture. This year's program also includes three Sunday workshops on tour guiding techniques, where certified guides from the association share their expertise and skills.

Although the lecture series was developed as part of APT's tour guide certification program, you do not have to be a member of the association to attend the lectures. Nor do you have to be an association member to attend the three-part Tour Guiding Techniques Workshops. You also have the option of registering for individual lectures only or the workshops only. Those who register for the entire lecture series are automatically enrolled in the Tour Guiding Techniques Workshops.

The cost of the entire series for the general public, all eight lectures and the three workshops, is $190; or $25 per lecture. For APT members, the cost of the full series is $150; or $20 per lecture. For workshops only the cost is $70 for the general public and $50 for APT members. Special group rates for the series are also available; for more information contact
