Want to improve your home with green tools like garden planters, rain barrels or permeable pavers? The Philadelphia Water Department’s Rain Check program can help.
Attending a one of our free Rain Check workshops is the first step to get a free or discounted green stormwater tool, and taking a class during the winter is the best way to ensure you will be set for spring. Sign up here: http://bit.ly/rain-check
We provide residents with free rain barrels and $100 downspout garden planters. On bigger projects like de-paving driveways and building rain gardens, our cost-sharing program will contribute up to $2,000.
To encourage participation this winter, we are offering two new incentives for past and future Rain Check participants:
Monthly Artistic Rain Barrel Raffle: Attend this workshop and we'll enter you in a raffle for a specially wrapped rain barrel. Winners will have three designs created by Philadelphia student artists and the Mural Arts Program to choose from.
Refer a Friend for Flower Show Tickets: Past participants who get Philadelphia residents to come to a Rain Check workshop by February 20 will have a chance to win two tickets to this year’s Philadelphia Flower Show. Just spread the word about Rain Check and tell people to give your name when they RSVP for their workshop (participant must attend the workshop).
Rain Check is managed in partnership with the Pa. Horticultural Society and the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia.
