Walking West Philadelphia Architecture Walking Tour

West Philly thinks it’s the best Philly. It was the city’s first sub-urban development in the 19th century made possible through the expansion of the electric trolley car system connecting it with center city. Join tour guide Jim Mundy for a walk through a variety of neighborhoods that represent some of the most diverse domestic and institutional architecture in the city. Start at The Woodlands, the first gentleman’s country estate with the prototype Federal mansion in America and end at Calvary Methodist Church with its wonderful Tiffany glass windows.

Meet on the front steps of the Woodlands Mansion (4000 Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19104).

Purchase tickets online or go to the designated tour meeting place and pay your tour guide (cash or check payable to Preservation Alliance). The group size is limited to 20 people; people with tickets get priority. Please print tickets purchased online when possible. Tours run approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Tours run rain or shine.
