SEPTA is pleased to extend an invitation to participate in a forthcoming “Energy Action Plan Open House” on Tuesday, November 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Each open house will be held on the third floor at SEPTA Headquarters, 1234 Market Street, in Philadelphia. This open house will serve as a key platform for stakeholder participation in SEPTA’s planning process for an update to SEPTA’s 2012 Energy Action Plan.
In addition to the in-person sessions, the information displayed at the open houses will be available online between November 6 and December 4 so that participants who are unable to attend an open house in person will have the opportunity to provide feedback. A link to the comment portal will be available at http://septa.org/energyactionplan/
The 2012 Energy Action Plan outlined 18 initiatives to reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions, while simultaneously remaining budget-neutral in response to funding shortfalls. The 2012 Energy Action Plan was pursuant to the Board-adopted Sustainability Annual Plan, SEP-TAINABLE, and served as the framework for initiatives to advance the environmental, social and economic sustainability of the system and region. It is now time to update the 2012 Energy Action Plan. The update will provide information about the original 18 goals published in the 2012 plan and will extend SEPTA’s commitment to reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions. During the open house, we will display information about SEPTA’s progress and the proposed planning framework. We will then look to you to help further develop future targets and supporting initiatives.
We look forward to working with you on this exciting opportunity to shape a sustainable future for SEPTA and Greater Philadelphia.
