Name Game
As PlanPhilly reported earlier this month, the south side of 30th Street Station is getting a new public space created from a former parking lane on Market Street. The space is currently being called Station Square, but the University City District wants you to name it.
So, what would you call a 40-foot wide sidewalk loaded with potential? Submissions are due next Friday, so you have one week left to think up a winner.
Submit your entries (send each one separately) via email to newpublicspace@universitycity.org by midnight on September 30th. Be sure to include the name you’ve suggested, and the rationale behind your suggestion (in 150 words or less), as well as your name, telephone number and email address. Winners not only name the space but receive a $500 gift certificate to Amtrak. The winning entry will be announced in mid-October.
