Help the Bicycle Coalition Count Bikes

  • Sharing the road on 10th Street.

The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is still calling for volunteers to help finish their annual bike commuter counts this week.

The Bicycle Coalition explains what's involved on their blog:
What are bike counts? We stake out key intersections during the morning and evening commutes and count bikes. We also look for bad behavior like sidewalk and wrong-way riding, and we track gender and helmet stats. Each bike count takes 90 minutes long and they don't happen if it's raining or snowing.
Counting bike commuters matters because it helps the Coalition better understand the state of cycling in our city, and helps drive their research and advocacy.

Interested volunteers can contact Nicholas at Nicholas@bicyclecoalition.org to set up a time. Volunteers will get a sweet orange “I Bike PHL” t-shirt.
