Rally for the Ramp at Delaware River Port Authority 2/1 – UPDATED

UPDATE: The Bicycle Coalition tweeted that DRPA “approved $350k to design the Ben Franklin ramp w/ intent to build.”

The Bicycle Coalition for Greater Philadelphia is holding out hope that a ramp will replace a three-story stair tower on the Benjamin Franklin Bridge’s Camden side.

The Delaware River Port Authority’s 2012 capital budget cut funding for the ramp, but a lot of people think the ramp is an important piece of infrastructure that helps connects trail systems on either side of the river. The Bicycle Coalition has enlisted the support of Rutgers, Congressmen Bob Menendez and Frank Lautenberg, local busisnesses, and more than 1,000 petition signatures.

You’re invited to “Rally for the Ramp” with the Bicycle Coalition at the next Delaware River Port Authority meeting (One Port Center, Camden) on Wednesday, February 1, at 9:30am. [note time change as of 1/30]
