Charles Dickens’ 200th Birthday Party

Sunday, February 5, 2-3:30pm. University of the Sciences, Griffith Hall, 43rd Street and Kingsessing Ave. In honor of their Clark Park’s bronze Charles Dickens statue, Friends of Clark Park celebrates Charles Dickens’ 200th birthday by hosting a program with dramatic Dickens readings and old English music, dance, costumes, and treats. (On Saturday morning, Friends of Clark Park are doing a cleanup around the Dickens statue to get ready for the party and would appreciate volunteer help.) Free.

Megawords curated Film Screening

Sunday, February 5, 2:30-4:30pm. Philadelphia Museum of Art, Van Pelt Auditorium, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Take in documentary-style films about the ways people perceive and inhabit urban public and private spaces, curated by Megawords with the Temple University Urban Archives. Presented as in conjunction with Zoe Strauss: 10 Years. Free tickets required, after museum admission
