Taller Puertorriqueño 16th Annual Arturo Schomburg Symposium

The Arturo Schomburg Symposium examines the relationships between the African Diaspora and Latin American Culture. This year’s panels focus on expressions of diverse culture and identity in media. Beautiful Landscapes: Key to Healthy Communities

Katy Moss Warner will share her experiences with America in Bloom, a nonprofit organization that encourages municipalities to focus on their landscapes as a way to enhance quality of life and economic activity. Warner is a President Emeritus of the American Horticultural Society. Free, register online.

Dickens for kids at The Dandelion

The Dandelion, 124 South 18th St. In celebration of Charles Dickens’ 200th birthday month, in partnership with the Free Library’s Year of Dickens, enjoy fireside readings of Dickens adaptations for kids over an English Breakfast. Free to attend, Breakfast is $13 or $20 with a 20oz cask of beer.
