Bill Moggridge, Director of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, comes to Penn tonight for a lecture on integrated product design. Moggridgge is credited with designing the first laptop computer in 1981, and founded IDEO ten years lager. Free, register online. 

Building Philadelphia: The Victorian City

Tuesday, March 27, 6-9:30pm. Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch Street. Building Philadelphia: Architecture, History & Politics is a 10-part lecture series by local scholars, running every Tuesday from March 6-May 8. This week Bryn Mawr College’s Jeffrey Cohen discusses Victorian Philadelphia. Individual lectures cost $25, $20 for members, or $15 for students. Register online.

This Space Available

Thursday, March 28, 6:30pm. Free Library, Parkway Central, 1901 Vine Street. SCRUB presents a screening of This Space Available: The Grassroots Movement Against Visual Pollution, a documentary about advertising in public space along with a discussion about the film with its producer and branding expert Marc Gobe. Also, SCRUB will use the occasion to announce its new name: Scenic Philadelphia.
