University City District is illuminating the area around the 46th Street El stop, Naked Philly reports. A safety study revealed that area was an after-dark crime hot spot thanks in part to poor lighting, so UCD is installing 15 new pedestrian lights along 46th and Farragut streets.

More transit-oriented development is coming to Nicetown, reports Amy Z. Quinn for NewsWorks and PlanPhilly. The City Planning Commission unanimously approved the redevelopment agreement between the city and developers Nicetown CDC and Universal Companies to build more affordable housing and commercial spaces near Wayne Junction.

Grub Street tips that the Food Gardens at The Docklands, a food truck hub behind IKEA, is coming soon. Project developer Kristin Muldoon says there’s a lot of interest among truck operators and she hopes to have things up and running in June.

Travelers over the Benjamin Franklin, Commodore Barry, and Walt Whitman bridges will see lane closures this week. Check the Delaware River Port Authority site for a schedule of closures and more info.
