Toll Brothers gave the Planning Commission a glimpse of its proposed condo development at the former Stamper Square/NewMarket site, the long-vacant lot near the Headhouse shambles. PlanPhilly’s Kellie Patrick Gates reports that input from the Society Hill Civic Association and Historical Commission have led to some design revisions, including the creation of a terraced public space linking the Toll site to 2nd Street. Toll will seek approval from the Commission for the 69-unit, five-story building  – which will require zoning variances for height and parking – at its next meeting.

A $3 million state grant has helped finance renovations to the old Strawbridge’s building floor that now houses Interstate General Media, the publishers of the Inquirer, Daily News and philly.com. It’s Our Money explains that the $3 million comes from a larger Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant to PREIT, the property owner, for renovations to the Gallery. Don’t forget: the city provided $3 million in loans to finance the media company’s move.

Naked Philly thinks the city’s second casino site ought to be in South Philly’s stadium district. The logic: If we are going to get another casino, the stadium area is the best location because of its excellent transportation access, huge parcels, and relative isolation from nearby neighborhoods.

Speaking of casinos, the AP reports that Pennsylvania gaming revenue has gone up 31% over the last year.
