West Shipyard Archaeological Dig Tour

Tuesday, July 24, 5-7pm. Columbus Boulevard between Vine and Callowhill. The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation is inviting the public to learn about the archaeological explorations at the site of the historic West Shipyard. Due to high demand, the DRWC has added an additional tour Tuesday evening. Shakespeare in Clark Park: Merry Wives of Windsor

Wednesday, July 25 – Sunday July 29, 7pm. Clark Park, 43rd and Chester. Bring your chairs and blankets to the bowl and enjoy an evening of The Bard, with this year’s production of the comedy, Merry Wives of Windsor. Free, family-friendly.

Schuylkill Banks Movie Night: O Brother Where Art Thou?

Thursday, July 26, 8:20-10:20 pm. Schuylkill Banks at the Walnut Street Bridge. Spend an evening on Schuylkill Banks for a screening of the Coen Brothers’ O Brother Where Art Thou? starting at dusk. There will be a raffle with prizes from Philadelphia Runner, and refreshments (first-come, first-served) provided by Dranoff Properties. Free.

Southeast by Southeast community art exhibition

Reception: Thursday, July 26, 5:30-7:30pm. Free Library of Philadelphia, Parkway Central, Print and Pictures Collection, 1901 Vine Street. As part of the Southeast by Southeast mural project, artists Miriam Singer and Shira Walinsky are working with Burmese, Iraqi, and Bhutanese refugees – Philadelphia’s three largest refugee communities – to document their transition to life in the United States through photography, print making, collage, drawing, painting and more during workshops and classes at a pop-up storefront at 1927 S. 7th Street. An exhibition of this work will be on display at the Library’s Parkway Central branch until August 11, with an opening reception Thursday evening.
