Second Friday on Lancaster Avenue

Friday, August 10, 5-8pm.  Lancaster Avenue from 35th to 43rd Streets. Join neighbors and businesses for an evening out strolling Lancaster Avenue. Lancaster Avenue 21st Century Business Association, People’s Emergency Center, Drexel University and Flying Kite are co-hosting. Festivities will include live music at Make Your Mark building (3861 Lancaster), Emily Olson’s Budd Street photography project will be on display at Flying Kite (4017 Lancaster) and Little Baby’s Ice Cream will be selling sweet treats. Free.

23rd Annual Pennsylvania Dutch Festival

Friday, August 10- Saturday August 11, 8am-5pm. Reading Terminal Market. For the 23rd year running Reading Terminal Market will toast Pennsylvania Dutch traditions and culture. In the market’s Center Court there will be handmade crafts, foods. Outside look for Amish buggy and wagon rides. Pay as you go.

Southeast Asian Dragon Boat Festival

Saturday, August 11, 12-8pm. Penn’s Landing Marina, Columbus Boulevard and Walnut Street. For the second year running the Southeast Asian Dragon Boat Festival returns to the Penn’s Landing Marina, to celebrate and promoting the understanding of Southeast Asian heritage. Free.

Midnight in Paris in Rittenhouse

Saturday, August 11, 8:30pm. Rittenhouse Square. Friends of Rittenhouse Square, Uwishunu, and the Philadelphia Film Society are screening Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris in Rittenhouse Square. Bring a picnic or stop by the PHS Pops-Up garden for free Shake Shack frozen custards (7-9pm). Free.
