Kensington Renewal has finished work on its first rehab and will hold an open house on Saturday for 921 East Westmoreland, NewsWorks reports. Jamie Moffett, the filmmaker and neighbor behind Kensington Renewal, says the goal is to put homeownership within reach for neighborhood residents and help reclaim some of Kensington’s blocks from blight.

Philebrity reports that Paper Box Studios, a new coworking space in a rehabbed 1880s factory building in Olde Kensington, has officially opened, adding to Philly's ever-growing list of coworking options.

An expanded park space is in the works at Pier 53, the pier at Washington Avenue Green along the Delaware River, reports PlanPhilly’s Kellie Patrick Gates. Divers inspected the condition of pier structures between Piers 35 and 70 this week in order to learn if the existing piers can support public access. The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation hopes construction can begin for a new public space at the pier next year.
