9/11 Memorial dedication today

If you’ve been on the trail at Schuylkill Banks in Center City lately you might have noticed an understated new sculpture near the Chestnut Street Bridge. That work of metal and stone is actually our new 9/11 Memorial, featuring a piece of structural steel from the former World Trade Center in Manhattan, set into a granite slab and surrounded by the names of three Philadelphians killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center.

The City of Philadelphia and the Schuylkill River Development Corporation will officially dedicate memorial during a ceremony on Tuesday afternoon at 1pm.

Date: Tuesday, September 11, 1-1:30pm
Location: Schuylkill Banks, south of the Chestnut Street Bridge on the east side of the river
