Eyes is one, onward!

Eyes on the Street turned one in late September. So before we race headlong into our second year I wanted to take a moment to look back and say thank you for an amazing start.

In the last year, over the course of more than 700 posts (mostly written by yours truly), Eyes on the Street has covered a lot of ground. We've visited new public spaces like Lardner's Point, Sister Cities, and Hawthorne Park; fielded reader questions about playground water features and planning a park wedding; checked in on Autumn(s) in Bella Vista, development rumbles in Point Breeze, and the lighting of the South Street Bridge; toured bike infrastructure projects with city planners; zoomed in on textures at the Barnes; showcased city history from above and at street level; and brought you inside the Provident Mutual Life Insurance Buildingon the Reading Viaduct, and around parts of the Lower Schuylkill.

EOTS community contributors have shared a personal stories about vacant land, reflected on the Jane Jacobs complex, and explored how food co-op development builds community. Meanwhile our devoted group of photo contributors share incredible images of the city - more than 1100 strong in our Flickr pool -  that constantly surprise and delight me. I'd like to say a special thank you to our most frequent photographers - Steve Ives, Gary Reed, and Rob Lybeck - who share what the city looks like through their eyes almost daily.

And that's just the beginning.

If there is something you think we should cover or a place we should visit, . And don't forget: You can add your voice here too. Community Contributors and shutterbugs are encouraged.

Thank you for welcoming EOTS into Philly's planning conversation, sharing your perspectives, and adding EOTS to your routine. It's been an fantastic, fun first year.

Onward!
