Halloween Flashlight Tours

Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27, 7-9:30pm. Laurel Hill Cemetery. Follow guides along Laurel Hill Cemetery’s meandering paths, and meet some of the cemetery’s restless spirits (played by the Not Ready for the Afterlife Players), followed by festive treats by the fire pit. Not recommended for kids under 12 years old, BYO flashlight. Tickets are transferable between nights (including 10/30) in the event of inclement weather. Purchase $20 tickets online.

Frank Furness: Making a Modern Library

Saturday, October 27, 9:30-11am. Fisher Fine Arts Library Reading Room, University of Pennsylvania. PennDesign is hosting a conference, gallery talk, and exhibit opening about the Frank Furness’ Fine Arts Library with historians James O’Gorman and George Thomas, Architectural Archives director William Whitaker, and library designer Henry Myerberg.

Columbus Square Flea Market and Pumpkinfest

Saturday, October 27. Columbus Square Park, 12th and Wharton streets. The Columbus Square Advisory Council’s annual fall flea market will set up around the park, while inside the rec center it’s Pumpkinfest – kids should come dressed in their Halloween costumes for holiday crafts and sweets! Pumpkins provided.

Pumpkinland Fall Festival

Saturday, October 27, 12-5pm. Headhouse Shambles, 2nd and Lombard streets. Join South Street Headhouse District for their 4th annual pumpkin decorating, a Thriller dance class, circus performances, magic show, and glass blowing demonstration. Free.

Paradin’ on the River

Satuday, October 27, 1pm. Schuylkill Banks, near 25th and Locust street entrance. Join the 8th annual Halloween Pet Parade and People Promenade, hosted by the Schuylkill River Park Alliance, complete with prizes for the best costumed kids, adults, and pets. Free.
