Urban Film Screening: This Space Available

Advertisements are everywhere, are increasingly taking over our public spaces, but people around the world are pushing back against visual pollution caused by ads. In This Space Available Marc Gobé (Emotional Branding) and his daughter, Gwenaëlle Gobé, traveled to 11 countries to talk about efforts to to reclaim public environments from ad domination. Join Marc Gobé for a screening and discussion of his film, sponsored by Penn IUR, Center for Public Health Initiatives, and the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. Free, registration required.

Thanksgiving Day Parade

Thursday, November 22, starting at 8:15am. Benjamin Franklin Parkway and JFK Boulevard. Philadelphia has the oldest Thanksgiving parade in the nation, more than 90 years strong, and the tradition continues this year on Thanksgiving morning. Balloons, floats, special guests (Ryan Howard, Eagles Cheerleaders, Miss America 2012, Santa, and more) 18 marching bands from across the country, tap schools, and choirs will parade down the Parkway from Eakins Oval, and then down JFK Boulevard. 6ABC coverage begins at 8:30am.
