2013 Preservation Achievement Award Honorees

From historic trees to tile roofs, from the Navy Yard to Nicetown, the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia has announced 21 projects, people, and community groups from across the region to receive this year's Preservation Achievement and Special Recognition awards at an event on May 15.

Philadelphia Honorees:

  • James Biddle Award for lifetime achievement in historic preservation: John Andrew Gallery
  • Public Service Award for preservation in the public interest: Preservation Pennsylvania
  • Rhoda and Permar Richards Award for service to the Preservation Alliance: Marian Kornilowicz
  • Community Action Awards for achievement by community organizations: Friends of the Wissahickon  For efforts to restore historical structures and trails throughout the park and continued stewardship of the Valley Green Inn. Nicetown Community Development Corporation  For successful advocacy for restoration of the Wayne Junction Train Station and support of the Wayne Junction National Register Historic District.
