Germantown Friends School Juried Craft Show

Saturday, March 2, 10am-6pm and Sunday, March 3, Noon-5pm. Germantown Friends School, Germantown Avenue and Coulter Street. For the 29th year running, GFS presentes its fabulous craft show to benefit the GFS Community Scholars Program and the school’s General Scholarship Fund. See amazing works in textiles, wood, ceramics, metal, glass, and leather, including pieces from local artisans. $10, free for students 18 and under.

2013 Philadelphia Flower Show

Opens Saturday, March 2 (11am-9:30pm) and runs through Sunday March 10. This year the Philadelphia Flower Show promises to be “Brilliant!” and positively brimming with flora Britannia. Be sure to check out the expert speakers and special attractions scheduled all week. World Culture Afternoon: Celebration of African Cultures

Saturday, March 2, 1-4pm. Penn Museum, 3260 South Street. Explore the cultures of Africa and the African diaspora with an afternoon of dance, storytelling, crafts, games, food, and art. Visitors can enjoy the Imagine Africa gallery project and the Egypt and Africa Galleries. Free with museum admission. Admission is $12, $10 for seniors and military personnel, $8 for kids and college students.
