P’unk Square Community Art Show and Auction

Friday, March 22, 7-10pm.Theater in Exile, 1340 South 13th Street. Sculptors, painters, jewelers, photographers, and printmakers have donated artworks for an art auction and raffle to benefit the Passyunk Square Civic Association. Come out to support PSCA, take in (and maybe take home) some art, and enjoy food and drinks with neighbors. Tickets cost $10 at the door. Check here for a full list of artists who donated work.

3rd Annual Gearing Up Bike & Bagel

Saturday, March 23rd, 8am. Fairmount Bicycles, 2015 Fairmount Avenue. Two rides will depart from Fairmount Bicycles, located at 2015 Fairmount Avenue at 8:30am sharp. The short ride will traverse 8 miles in East Fairmount Park, and the longer will be about 22 miles out along the Cynwyd Heritage Trail.  Both rides should be back at Fairmount Bicycles for bagels and coffee around 10am and a raffle drawing. Helmets and waivers (signed by 8:15am) are required.

Germantown Design Charrette

Saturday, March 23, 10am-3pm. Germantown Mennonite Historic Trust, 6133 Germantown Avenue. Join Germantown United Community Development Corporation, Flying Kite, YAFto envision a new future for the 6100 and 6200 blocks of Germantown Avenue. Or come at 2pm for final presentaitons. RSVP via Facebook or by emailing  yafphilly@gmail.com.

3rd Annual Fishtown Neighbors Association Chili Cookoff

Sunday, March 24th, 1-4pm. Skybox at 2424 Studios, 2424 E. York Street. Sample chili from 10 amateur cooks, and entries from area restaurants Loco Pez (last year’s winner), Sketch Burger, Barcade, Lloyd, East Girard Gastropub, Interstate Drafthouse, Fishtown Tavern, Cedar Point Bar and Kitchen. Wash it all down with brews provided by Philadelphia Brewing Company and Neshaminy Brewing Company and vote for your favorites. $15 tickets my be purchased in advance via www.fishtown.org or at the door.
