Breathing easy? DVRPC survey asks about regional air quality

Is your air safe to breathe? Do the words "Code Orange" mean anything to you? Do you make choices that take air pollution into account?

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission's (DVRPC) Air Quality Partnership wants your input on regional air quality. The partnership is asking Delaware Valley residents to answer these and other quick questions in a short survey. The feedback will help improve the partnership's outreach and education regarding air quality and its importance to public health.

The survey will be open through the end of "ozone season" in September.

Air Quality Partnership is a coalition of private companies, government agencies and non-profit organizations working to raise air quality awareness in the Delaware Valley and promote actions to reduce air pollution.

Christine Fisher, Transportation reporter

From 2012-2014 Christine covered transportation, writing about everything from pedestrian concerns to bicycle infrastructure, bridges, trail networks, public transit and more. Her favorite assignments sent her bushwhacking through Philadelphia’s yet-to-be-cleared bike trails, catching a glimpse of SEPTA’s inner workings or pounding the pavement to find out what pedestrians really think. Christine also covered community news for Eyes on the Street, where her work ranged from food sovereignty to public art and urban greening. She first joined PlanPhilly in fall 2011 as an intern through a partnership with Temple University’s Philadelphia Neighborhoods website.
