In neighborhoods from Swampoodle to Point Breeze, PhillyRising Collaborative is helping neighbors improve their communities and combat crime by marshaling the city’s resources and building partnerships among residents. PhillyRising, run out of the Managing Director’s Office, targets neighborhoods that suffer from pervasive crime and quality of life concerns.

Next week PhillyRising Collaborative is hosting a conference to share ideas and resources, gather like-minded civic-do-gooders together, and honor residents who go the extra mile to better their neighborhoods. The conference will offer sessions about community outreach, starting community gardens, programs for young residents, and more.

The PhillyRising 2013 Conference will take place Wednesday, August 14 from 9am-3pm at the Convention Center. Registration tables open at 8:30am but you may pre-register online
