SEPTA taking bus route suggestions until August 31

Have an idea for a SEPTA route change or addition? Now is your chance to share your thoughts with SEPTA. The authority is taking suggestions for route changes, additions, and extensions as part of its annual service plan planning process.

Recommendations made before August 31 will be considered for the Fiscal Year 2015 Annual Service Plan. Recommendations made after the August 31 deadline will be considered for the 2016 service plan.

All recommendations selected will be contingent upon available funding.

The extension of the Route 3 bus on weekends to Smith Memorial Playground is an example of a successful service planning recommendation. As PlanPhilly reported, Smith Memorial Playground staff and supporters along with SEPTA’s Citizen Advisory Committee recommended extending the Route 3 from 33rd Street and Cecil B. Moore Ave to the playground. This summer SEPTA began trial service of the extension. If the route is successful and economically viable, SEPTA will maintain the service.

All submissions must be emailed to serviceplanning@septa.org or written and mailed to:
