STROLL: Second Fridays on Lancaster Ave

Saturday, November 9, 8:30am – 2pm. The Kimmel Center, 300 South Broad Street. Philadelphia magazine’s week-long event featuring the city’s brightest minds and most innovative ideas kicks off with this Saturday with the main event, a day of speakers, panels and entertainment. Attendees will hear from the likes of Lauren Boggi, Adam Grant, Pig Iron Theatre, Frank Lee, Chris Wink and Aimee Olexy. Cost: $75.

CYCLE: Philadelphia Bike Expo

Saturday, November 9, 10am – 6pm & Sunday, November 10, 10am – 5pm. Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch Street, Philadelphia. The Philly Bike Expo is a weekend-long celebration of cycling. Now four years old, the expo promotes the fun, function, fitness and freedom that bicycling can offer. The expo includes vendors selling bicycling gear, swag and miscellaneous bike stuff plus two days of seminars – including those centered on family biking, women and cycling and connecting The Circuit. Cost: Tickets range from $8 to $25. Details available online

CELEBRATE: Every Family Party, Cityscapes

Saturday, November 9, 5:30pm – 8:30pm. Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia. The 16th annual Every Family Party will turn PMA’s halls into a festive party venue for children and families. This year’s theme, Cityscapes, incorporates the sights and sounds of city living and, as always, seeks to raise funds for the museum’s education programming. Cost: Single tickets $30, Groups of six or more $25 per person, Children under one are free.
