HACK: LibHack 2014

Friday, January 24. 9:30am - 5pm. University of Pennsylvania Special Collections Center, Van Pelt Library, 3420 Walnut Street. LibHack is a library hackathon working to hack for better libraries. Hackers of all levels and library lovers are invited to work together to create something useful while improving their coding skills. Cost: $25.

GAZE: Longwood Gardens Annual Orchid Extravaganza

Saturday, January 25. 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square. Want to revive the color in your life after a few snow-blanketed days? Head to Longwood Garden's for the inaugural weekend of Orchid Extravaganza, a display of nearly 5,000 colorful orchid blossoms carefully arranged in Longwood Garden's four-acre conservancy. The display opens this weekend and will remain open through March. Cost: Adults $18, Seniors $15, Students and children 5-18 $8, Children age 4 and under free.
