BUILD: Development Action on the Lower Schuylkill

Penn’s Anne Papageorge will talk South Bank, Drexel’s John Fry will talk decking tracks at 30th Street, developer Carl Dranoff will discuss his adaptive reuse projects, and Douglas Carney will talk CHOP’s new development at South Street. LEARN: The Future of Bike Share Transit Systems

Wednesday, March 5. DVRPC Main Conference Room. 190 North Independence Mall West, 8th Floor. DVRPC will host a webinar-viewing party for the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) bike share webinar. The three-part series will explore the evolving domain of bike sharing as bicycle transit in the larger context of transportation planning. Free.

EXPLORE: Gray Area + Promise Zones at DAG

Thursday, March 6, 8am. Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch St. Join the Design Advocacy Group for its March meeting. Elise Vider will give an update on the Gray Area historic preservation project. People’s Emergency Center’s Kira Strong will discuss how part of West Philadelphia was designated a federal Promise Zone.

GO GREEN: Tri-State Sustainability Symposium

Friday, March 7. 8am – 3:30pm. Temple Performing Arts Center, 1837 North Broad St. The Delaware Valley Green Building Council will bring together sustainability experts, industry leaders and green building gurus to talk sustainable design across the region. $60, $40 for members, $10 for students.
