Friday, May 2. Dusk. Betsy Ross House, 239 Arch Street. This spring and summer The Betsy Ross House is hosting outdoor movie screenings every First Friday through October. Each event will feature a classic film from the 50s or 60s. This week kicks off with Plan 9 from Outer Space. $5

CELEBRATE: 44th Annual Mt. Airy Day

Saturday, May 3. 11am – 5pm. Cliveden of the National Trust, 6400 Germantown Ave. Tried and true, annual Mt. Airy Day returns Saturday for its 44th year. More than 14 local bands will split two stages, as shoppers peruse food truck offerings, hand crafted goods, arts, crafts and jewelry for sale. Kids can enjoy games in the Mt. Airy Day KidZone, and valet bike parking will be set up in front of Caring Heart Rehab. Free

PARTY: PlazaPalooza

Saturday, May 3. 1pm – 7pm. 23rd and South streets. The fourth annual PlazaPalooza brings local foods, live music and games for the whole family to the northern most Grays Ferry Triangle this Saturday. The festival also kicks off a pedestrian plaza pilot program in the same space. Rain date: May 4. Free

PEEK: Queen Village Home & Garden Tour

Saturday, May 3. 12pm – 4pm. Old Swedes’ Church, Christian and Waters streets. What’s behind that traditional Queen Village brick facade? Find out this weekend, when you have a chance to tour the neighborhood’s homes and gardens. Proceeds benefit the Queen Village Neighborhood Association and their projects. Cost: $25. 

PLANT: Spring Plant Sale

Saturday, May 3 & Sunday, May 4. 10am – 3pm. Parent Infant Center, 4205 Spruce Street. To raise funds for its scholarship fund, Parent Infant Center will sell a variety of annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, herbs, vegetables, fruits and more during its annual plant sale this weekend. Pay as you go. 

PURCHASE: Bartram’s Garden Spring Fest & Plant Sale

Saturday, May 3 & Sunday, May 4. 10am – 4pm. Bartram’s Garden, 54th Street and Lindbergh Blvd. Bartram’s Garden invites green thumbs and green thumb wannabes to its spring plant sale this weekend. The event features Bartram’s collection of heirloom roses, plus thousands of vegetables, herbs, perennials, shrubs and trees. Pay as you go

OPEN: Headhouse Farmers’ Market 

Sunday, May 4. 10am – 2pm, South Street Headhouse, 2nd and Lombard Streets. The Food Trust’s Headhouse Farmers’ Market returns for its spring season with products from more than 40 food distributors. Don’t miss highlights like house-made sausages and dips from Talula’s Table, cider from Frecon Farms, pastries from Wildflour Bakery and more. Pay as you go.
