McCormick Taylor is looking for a Construction Manager (PennDOT TCM) to join our growing organization in the Exton, PA area. The Construction Manager will work closely with our Inspectors, as well as our Project Managers on various local and PennDOT funded transportation and public works projects.  They will ensure that proper contract adherence and inspection requirements are met; attend/conduct project control meetings; document work progress; monitor construction quality and safety.



  • Provide services for and manage staff to carry out construction management/inspection services on bridges, roadways, trails, etc.
  • Review construction issues that arise in the field and provide recommendations to resolve discrepancies
  • Work directly with the client and contractor to meet the needs of the project
  • Communicate with the project team and Client throughout the project
  • Prepare, maintain and secure contract records including correspondence, contractor documents, meeting minutes, daily inspection reports, specifications, non-compliance notices, etc.
  • Correlate and analyze field data, review plans and records, initiate change orders, prepare time extensions, submit pay estimates and all other forms necessary to complete a construction project, conduct progress and field meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and other related duties to finalize and close out projects
  • Provide Quality Assurance reviews on construction projects to ensure objectives and assignments are conducted in conformance to contract documents
  • Pursue new opportunities for the construction team


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • NICET Level III Certification (or higher) in Heavy Highway Construction, and a valid driver’s license.
  • 8+ years of bridge and heavy highway construction experience, including 5+ years on Transportation Bridge or Highway construction projects.
  • Experience working with public agencies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Candidate must have the ability to sometimes work in adverse weather conditions.  Candidate must be physically able to perform moderately strenuous tasks; which includes walking along rough terrain, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.  Candidate must be available to possibly work a varied work schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering/Construction Management
  • Certifications: ACI Field Technician; PennDOT Concrete Technician; NECEPT Field Technician; CDS NExtGen; and Troxler Nuclear Gauge.
